About Us

Our Story:

Born and raised in New Jersey, sisters Carleigh and Rachel have always shared a deep love for fashion. The Co-Owners recollect how they shared a closet as little girls; they never fought over clothing like most sisters, except when it came to their iconic 'That's So Raven Bikini' circa 2005.

Carleigh studied fashion merchandising and marketing at Marist College and received a master's degree in fashion business management at Parsons the New School. Rachel studied fashion design and specialized in intimate apparel at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she was honored with the critic award for her senior thesis design.

After gaining experience working in the fashion industry, the pair realized that together, they had the perfect blend of talent and resources to pursue their lifelong dream of creating a brand which prioritizes quality garments, fine details, and fun accessories.

Having an Irish American mother who constantly supported the dynamic sisters to always be themselves, when conceptualizing Oisrí, it was important for them to embrace their ethnic origins while encouraging a community for women to feel soft, sexy, confident, and strong at the same time.

The word 'Oyster' translates to 'Oisrí' in Gaelic. Oysters are associated with Aphrodite, the goddess of love, fertility, pleasure, and beauty. The natural ability of oysters to create pearls teaches people that the transformation of something ordinary to something precious is possible with persistence. As a brand, Oisrí threads a faerie-like divine feminine theme through each collection while embodying a belief that everyone can experience an empowering transformation through wearing our designs.

Oisrí is authentic to Carleigh and Rachel by merging their childhood nostalgia of enjoying Summers at the Jersey Shore with their current lives in New York City, surrounded by inspiring fashion, while also paying homage to their Irish ancestry.

"The world is your (Oyster) Oisrí" is a mantra they have stood by. Your life is what you make it; the possibilities are beautiful and endless.
